Flags allows a user to filter reports based on their search requirements quickly and easily. It also allows Module:autotv and Module:autoquery to get the correct reports.

the flags are case insensitive, however they are based on the newzbin.com attributes and as such must exactly match the spelling used.

v1.4 (new) Flags

As of version 1.4, a new flag system will be added, this will be mostly backwards compatible

the flag hr has been removed

New Features

  • Flag Logic (simple & and | operators)
  • Flag types (source/video format/etc)
  • More flags (all on newzbin)

Flag Logic

The new flag system allows very simple logic in the form of:

  • & (and) - combining two flags, such as 720p&x264 will look for a report with both 720p and x264 flags set
  • | (or) - either one of two flags, such as x264|xvid will look for a report with either x264 or xvid flags set
  • ( ) (brackets) - combining a search for a flag in a bracket will seperate out the logic from the rest of the string, such as (x264|xvid)&720p will look for 720p and either x264 or xvid flags set

some examples:

  • 1080p&x264 - 1080p and x264
  • blu-ray&1080p&x264 - blu-ray and 1080p and x264
  • (x264|xvid)&tv cap - (x264 or xvid) and tv cap

Types

The flag system now supports types, such as source, video format etc. Types are defined as a set of letters with a ~ (tilda) preceding the flag.

For example:

  • s~dvd - means source: dvd
  • vf~x264 - means video format: x264
  • af~lossless - means audio format: lossless

the current list of types are as follows:

  • s - video source
  • vf - video format
  • af - audio format
  • vg - video genre
  • ag - audio genre
  • r - region
  • st - subtitle
  • l - language
  • m - media
  • a - anime
  • mi - music info
  • gg - game genre
  • c - console platform
  • cp - console platform
  • p - platform
  • b - book type
  • bg - book genre

Flag List

see: newzbin advanced search for a list of flags for each type

Special flags exist, such as:

  • any, normal - Matches any report (the default for autotv/autoquery)

Order

The order of the flags generally denote their importance, from left to right

f:720p&x264,xvid

means that it will prefer 720p and x264 but will also look for xvid if the first fails, for autotv/autoquery the first flag will stay active and will still be searched for.
