Some information about the sensors we will be getting:

The Sensors

  • LMS 200 a 'ladar' scanner > primary obstacle detection and gps corrector
  • From the meeting on the 23rd June it was decided that we all will be using magnetic compasses, to help us find out which direction we are going in, etc.
  • The Compusory Sensors which we must include are Bump Sensors, these are very simple to produce! they are mainly microswitches which are pressed if the robot comes into contact with an object!
  • The thales A12 GPS is what we will be using as GPS Thales A12 Info (ftp)
